At South University, being a Stingray is more than school spirit—it’s a symbol of resilience, pride, and connection across generations of graduates.
With over 6,000 votes cast by faculty, staff, students, and alumni, Stinger the Stingray was officially selected as the South University mascot in June 2022. In preparation for commencement that year, the likeness of Stinger was thoughtfully developed for broad use throughout the University community.
In a milestone moment, the physical Stinger mascot made a spirited debut at the Alumni Reunion and Commencement Ceremonies in Savannah, bringing together graduates past and present in celebration of our shared legacy.
As proud alumni, we carry the spirit of Stinger with us—bold, driven, and united. Once a Stinger, always a Stinger.
